Economy
Calgary-Fish Creek is home to a variety of small, medium and large businesses. Many people who live here rely on a strong and vibrant energy industry and all of its related benefits. Throughout my elected life, I have been a strong and vocal advocate for this business community and knows that without strong finances, many of our valued social, savings and community support programs will be starved for funding.
As a Member of the Legislative Assembly, I will continue to push for:
- A balanced provincial budget that does not pass a burden onto our children, grandchildren and the business community to pay.
- A provincial government that leads by example and eliminates waste and focuses on true spending priorities so that entrepreneurs can create jobs, invest in new equipment and compete internationally because of low taxes and a true culture of innovation.
- A truly open contract tendering process so that Alberta-based entrepreneurs can compete for and provide higher value for taxpayers.
- The reduction of red tape and the regulatory burden on business while protecting consumer interests and the environment.
- The development of a comprehensive transportation strategy that recognizes the independence of Alberta’s economy and identifies key transportation corridors to relive the pressure on current routes.
